Elections are in the air...
Here is a great piece to read about politics, really, and secondly about Obama. It's written by David Fitch, author of the superb, The Great Giveaway, which has been so influential at Epic. Here's a little taste!

I thought it was interesting, when they pointed out in the piece, that much of what determines who gives is how they see the role of government. Those that do not see the government's role as the great equalizer (a generally conservative point of view) are more willing to give on all levels.
I don't think Christians' should put their hope in politics. We can do what we were meant to do in a republic system of government and vote for who we think is most like us in our ideology, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Our savior isn't going to come from a man or woman, unless he were fully God too. Like Gandhi famously said, "You must be the change you want to see in the world."
